I'm so happy to be back home in the good ole USA!
I was even brought to tears when a number of my close friends all came out to be there for me at our welcome back ceremony at Fort Lewis, some of which drove over two hours from Portland, Oregon to be there for me. It was much appreciated.
As you may have previously read on my blog, I had purchased a number of firearms while on my deployment to the middle east, well, now that I am back, it was time to pick them up.
I selected my favorite local gun store to have them shipped to and to handle the transfer paper work. Surplus Ammo and Arms is the busiest little gun shop in Washington. It's immensely popular among the locals and they offer, by far, the best prices on ammo of any gun shop in the Seattle/Tacoma area. They also offer competitive prices on new and used firearms as well.
I have only the highest praise for their service and genuine care for customers. The staff is attentive, friendly, professional and knowledgeable. They handled my transfers (6-7 firearms total) diligently and did their best to expedite the paper work. While in the store to pick up my transfers, I spotted a Russian SKS (1954 Tula) for the unbelievably low price of $399. I couldn't resist picking that up, as well as yet another Mosin Nagant 91/30, which they sell for $109, a very good price.
Be sure to ask for Chester or Aaron if you should ever get a chance to visit the store. Chester and I communicated via email prior to my return and he always returned my emails promptly and answered all my questions. Chester was off on the day I happened to come in to pick up my transfers, Aaron, the store assistant manager, stepped right in, was already familiar with my transfers, and ably processed the multiplicity of paper work that was involved with my transfers and purchases. Keep in mind I had multiple firearms from a number of different sellers, Aaron located all my orders and calmly took care of everything. Thanks Aaron and thanks to the entire staff at Surplus Ammo and Arms! I can't recommend this fine store highly enough.
It's going to be at least a month before I can hit the range, I've got to move-in to a new apartment and get settled in. Stay tuned for new updates, including all the new videos I've been promising!
