All But the Ruger 10/22 (photos)

As you may or may not know, I have been agressively searching for replacements for my 7 stolen firearms and I've been extremely successful doing so. I placed a bid last night on a Czech VZ24, and if I win the auction, replacing the Ruger 10/22 will be all that remains to complete my task. In fact, I was able to ugrade slightly (although it cost me in dollars) in a number of cases including jumping from a standard DPMS Panther Arms AR15 light to a Sig Sauer M400 which I plan to deck out with a Eotech 512 and Magpul flip-up front and rear sights, I also upgraded slightly on my Mosin Nagant M44. The one I just purchased (1946 Izzy)  is a rare DDR (Russian made - East German Issued) the one I had before was just a regular 1946 Izzy.

I am still waiting for the insurance check, so I had to dip into an old credit card that I had saved for emergencies, as collecting and shooting firearms is pretty much my only hobby, I considered this an emergency.

So far I've purchased:

WASR10 Romanian AK47
AKMS Polish Underfold
Russian SKS 1953
Mosin Nagant M44
Sig Sauer M400 AR15

Currently bidding on Czech Mauser VZ24.

Stolen AR15 Replaced!

I have been a busy bidder on Gun Broker this week. I wasted no time getting to work trying to replace my stolen firearms. So far I've managed to acquire, at significant expense, an AKMS Polish underfold AK47, a WASR10 and just today I purchased a Mosin Nagant M44, a 1953 Russian SKS (only difference between the one that was stolen and this one is that mine was a Tula and this one is an Izzy) and just a few minutes ago I purchased a new AR15. A Sig Sauer M400 SRP.

I plan to set I up just like the one pictured, with flip-up sights and an Eotech 512.

Things are getting back to normal, except that I'm sleeping on a friends sofa and I'll probably only get to shoot these once or twice before I deploy to Korea.

Next item of business, a new lap top so I can get back to posting new videos!

Replaced the Two AKs

Picked up a WASR10 at a local pawn shop last week. Just purchased a Polish AKMS underfold on Gun Broker. Sure, I paid almost double what I originally paid for them, but I wasn't NOT going to replace them! THEY CAN'T STEAL MY FUN!

Next up, replace the SKS and the AR15. Got my eye on a couple.

The Ruger 10/22, the Mosin M44 and the Czech VZ24 will be easy to replace, no hurry there.

Tough to replace

Here's a photo of my AKMS that was stolen. Paid 529.00 for it earlier this year. Going to cost at least 900.00 to replace it in todays market. Ugh.

I will replace it!

What Do I Carry Now?

Having moved out of my apartment, with my entire (remaining) collection now in secured storage, sleeping on a friends sofa until I deploy to Korea, the question is; I can only realistically carry and keep one hand gun on me, which is it?

I recently purchased my first revolver, a Ruger SP101, a fantastic concealed carry revolver. With 5 rounds of .357 Hornady Critical defense ammunition, it's got heavy stopping power. Fits nicely into my IWB nylon holster in the small of my back.

I don't feel like I need 16 rounds of .40 like I did when I was sleeping, restlessly and rather in fear those last few nights in my apartment, so the Ruger is the perfect fit for my daily personal protection needs now.

I've already begun replacing the stolen rifles. Picked up a WASR10 at a pawn shop the other day. I paid 999.00 a tough pill to swallow given that I only paid 599 for the one that was stolen. It'll be the same story for my AR15 and AKMS Polish Underfold. I'll probably end up paying 1300 for an AR (paid 710 for my DPMS) and I'll probably pay around 1000 for an AKMS. Ouch. Well, the price is secondary, their value to me and how much I enjoy shooting them trumps the price.

It should be easy to find a SKS, M44 Mosin Nagant, VZ24 Mauser and a Ruger 10/22.

Next I have to get a new lap top so I can start producing new videos.

Stay tuned. I'll be coming back strong.

They stole my guns, but not my spirit, positive attitude, nor my enjoyment of shooting sports! Oh yeah, and Girls with Guns will go on strong as well!

My New Gun Safe

This is where I keep my guns NW. The thieves will never think to look there!

Today was moving day. I'm out of the apartment. I'll go back tomorrow to clean.
Insurance paper work is in order, I'll mail that out tomorrow and wait anxiously for the check. The minute it arrives, I'll begin replacing the stolen rifles.

My First K98 - They Can't Steal My Fun

Just took ownership of my first K98! It really lifted my spirits after the break-in earlier this week.

It's a Yugo rework of a BNZ 43. There is a single Waffenampt eagle left on the front barrel band and the "43" is still visible on the receiver.

Hopefully I'll get to shoot it before I depart for Korea.

Thanks for your support and kind words. I can only hope that the thrives will one day be brought to justice and my firearms returned.

Video - Home Invasion Recap

Just wanted to share my experience with you from what happened on Monday. Take a look at the scene of the crime. The criminals took a crow bar to the door, bent and pushed past the dead bolt and stole 7 rifles plus a shotgun that belonged to a friend, 2 lap tops plus assorted DJ and music gear.

Friends, responsible gun owners, secure your firearms. With values skyrocketing, criminals are aft them even more. Spend the extra money, buy a safe, install a security system, install cameras, take every and all precautions. The only way that law-abiding citizens will triumph over criminals is to stay vigilant, watch out for each other, report suspicious behavior and secure your valuables.

I will learn from this. I feel bad because I feel like I let down my community. I should have kept my firearms in a safe.

Burglary Summary

They broke in using a crow bar or pry bar of some type to pry open the front door near the deadbolt, thereby defeating the dead bolt. Looks like the work of a pro due to the ease of which it appears they broke through the front door. I have additional security on the sliding glass door and windows, but only the dead bolt on the front door.

They made away with two laptop computers, assorted DJ equipment and music recording gear and 7 rifles including; (2) AK47s, an AR15, an SKS, a Mosin Nagant M44, vz24 Czech Mauser, Ruger 10/22 and my friends Baikal MP153 semiauto shotgun (sorry Ryan) plus assorted optics such as red dot scopes and laser flashlight.

My renters insurance will cover some of that loss however, my concern is that these firearms do not end up in the hands of criminals. Unfortunately, my insurance will only cover a maximum of $2000 for theft of firearms, so I'll be out a few bucks.

My apartment was broken into. 7 long guns stolen.

<p>You read it right. Got home from work, front door busted open. 7 rifles stolen. More to come. Police here now...

Video - Ruger SP101 (My First Revolver)

I recently purchased my first revolver, a Ruger SP101 .357 magnum. I chose the Ruger Sp101 due to it's outstanding double-action trigger pull, it's good looks and it's easy to conceal with a barrel length of 2.25 inches. No need to write too much as the video pretty much sums it all up. So sit back and enjoy!

I met a former Marine at the range, a guy named Dave, who let me shoot his Rohm 38 special revolver (see the photos below). It's always fun making new friends and shooting their guns and letting them shoot mine.

Busy day at the local gun shop

I'm at surplus ammo and arms in Lakewood, WA today to pick up my new Ruger SP101. As you can see by the photo, business is booming.

Customers represent a cross-section of American society; families, all age groups, all ethnicities, both men and women. Gun ownership is at it's core, the definitive American right.

I drive by this morning, parking lot packed, this afternoon, parking lot packed, one hour to closing, parking lot packed.

Pics of the new Ruger to come.

Girls with Guns Photo Gallery - The Harrington Edition #2

Thanks again to my good friend SPC. Harrington who, in his unselfish nature, continues to feed me with endless images of Girls with Guns. He shares interesting news: he was written up at work for peeing in the shower. Not sure what the corrective action would be for that. All I can say he is a supporter of freedom and there's no better way to experience liberation than with a Harrington Edition Girls with Guns photo gallery, or peeing in a public shower! You go Harrington.

He has recently supplied me with at least 6 months worth of Girls with Guns photo galleries. Enjoy freedom lovers!

Video - The Day of the Shotgun

Spent the day at the range recently with a group of friends (six of us altogether) and shot trap and skeet before heading over to the rifle range. Unfortunately, I experienced problems with my new Rock Island M5 pump action shotgun. Sometimes it would fire, other times it would just go "click". A trip to the gun smith is in order.

Stay tuned for part two of this video.

Sign This Petition! OPPOSE Sen. Feinstien's New Assault Weapon Ban

This petition was stated by a great man and true American patriot who also happens to be my former Command Sergeant Major.

Please show your support for the 2nd Amendment by signing this petition opposing this completely unconstitutional proposed legislation that Sen. Diane Feinstien plans to introduce in Late January.

Thank you to all of my readers for being loyal and continuing to frequent my site. I started this blog out of a love for my hobby of collecting and shooting guns, as a way to share my enjoyment of that hobby and to cure the boredom of a deployment to Kuwait (I started the blog while on deployment).

The blog has reached 20,000 views, a great milestone that provides continued motivation to keep the blog going strong.

In the next 8 weeks you can look forward to more of the same great original videos, Girls with Guns photo galleries, photos from my ever growing gun collection, gun news and a NEW WEB SITE DESIGN.

Let's go for 50,000 views!

An open letter from a Marine to Sen. Feinstein

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/marines-scathing-response-to-sen-feinsteins-gun-control-proposal-i-am-not-your-subject-i-am-the-man-who-keeps-you-free/

Thank you, to an active duty service member who wasn't afraid to say what we've all been thinking.

This proposed bill is over-reaching and clearly MUST be unconstitutional, isn't it?
