Here's that Mauser from Jerry's Pawn Shop in Florida. It's all mine.

As I mentioned in my previous post, Jerry's Pawn Shop in Florida (I have added a permanent link to their Gun Broker listings over on the right hand side there) was kind enough to accommodate my request for an extended layaway so that I could purchase a Yugoslavian 24/47 Mauser that they had listed on GunBroker.com.

I already own a Yugo 24/47 but this one is in excellent condition. The stock looks like it has either been refinished or it's new. One way or the other, it's a great looking stock! The metal appears to be in like new condition as well. My Yugo Mauser is nowhere near this good a shape.

The Yugo 24/47 is a post-WWII production rifle. The 47 designates the year that production began on this model. I found some great information on the 24/47 here http://www.marstar.ca/Y-E-24+.htm actually that web site has lots of good information on all types of Mausers. I also found good information on the 24/47 on Wikipedia.

I paid a little more for it than I wanted, but given the condition it's in and that I can pay it off on a layaway, I went ahead and pulled the trigger.

I recently bought 900 rounds of 8mm Mauser ammunition from AmmoMan.com so I'll have plenty enough ammo to put through all my Mausers (my Mauser collection is now up to 4 rifles: the two Yugo's, a 1946 Spanish and a 1938 Czech VZ24. AmmoMan.com has, by far, the best prices on bulk ammo that I have ever found online. And they include FREE SHIPPING on all their orders. You can't beat that.

It looks like it's going to make an excellent shooter!
