Best Gun Fail Accidents of 2011

This video features some of the most absurd and laughable gun fail accidents caught on tape last year. While I did laugh at many of them, some were down right scary and were terrifying displays of irresponsibility. Have fun out there but please, think first and be safe.

A World of Rainbows is A World of AK47's

Neat stuff, this guy shoots his AK into an ice pond, the spray from the impact of the rounds captures the color spectrum and makes a rainbow... Ah, the sheer bliss of an AK47, it even makes fricken rainbows!!! Click the photo to view the animation.

Guns Aren't Just for Men Anymore

More Women Exercising Their 2nd Amendment Rights

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT-TV) - Statistics show the number of women buying firearms has grown exponentially over the past decade or so.

Their stories may vary, but, for the most part, their reasons are the same. More local women are choosing to exercise their 2nd Amendment right. For Patti Slagel, the decision to arm herself was easy.

"I realized, being a proactive person, this is one area I wasn't prepared for. The thought of an invasion in my home, the safety of a family member, or a threat at my business became reality to me," said Patti Slagel, recently bought a handgun.

Weekly Girls with Guns Photo Gallery

The stats don't lie, readers overwhelmingly approved of my recent posts featuring random photos of girls with guns. After all, what's not to like?

After much deliberation, I've decided to keep the photos, strictly R-rated, however, an occasional boob wouldn't be out of the question.

I'll try to update with a new girls with guns photo gallery every week, but don't hold it against me if I run out of photos after a while.

So without further to do (I know the actual phrase is without further ado, I'm quoting Al Pacino as Carlito in the movie Carlito's Way)...

Guns in Movies - Pulp Fiction For Example

Ever wonder what kinds of guns are used in your favorite movies? I do. I was just wondering the other day about what kinds of guns John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson used in Pulp Fiction.

The search results may surprise you. I thought that both characters carried 1911s, boy was I wrong.

IFMDB.org is a fantastic source for this kind of information. Try searching their site next time you get curious like me...

Are Your Little Girls Ready for the Zombie Apocalypse? - OMG-AR15 Unicorn Zombie Gun

What you're looking at is not a toy. Watch the video of it in use...

Inspired by the recent trend towards rifle-mounted chainsaws, we at Guns & Gardens wanted to give the idea a try -- our way. First, we decided to keep the budget low, so we used the OMG AR15 as the base rifle. Second, we wanted to design an attachment that was easy to make with limited tools. And third, we wanted the ability to remove the chain saw and use it without the rifle. And lastly, it has to appeal to little girls. Read more...

We Men Love Our Guns But We Love Girls with Guns Even Better - Here's the Proof

Here's a screen shot of the traffic stats from the blog. Notice the sharp spike in traffic on days I posted photos of girls with guns.

We love guns! We love girls with guns even more!

I was planning on making the posting of photos of girls with guns a regular occurrence on my blog, now it's a given.

My First Full-Sized 1911 - Springfield 1911-A1 Loaded

The joy of owning and shooting a 1911 is hard to put into words. It's like...

There's just something about the classic look and robust feel of a 1911. It's got weight to it, it's got girth and substance. When it goes off it's like a miniature canon that you're in total control of.

I still don't know why the US Army opted to replace it with the Beretta M9 in 9mm. If I were in a combat situation and had to choose between a sidearm, no doubt about it, I'd want to trust my life to the 1911 and the knock down power of the .45 caliber. In a self-defense situation, sure, the 9mm can do the job, but in combat, you want as much stopping power as you can get your hands on.

Owning a 1911 is a must for any true gun enthusiast, especially an American gun enthusiast. Heck, even the Japanese General Kuribayashi carried one at the Battle of Iwo Jima, a gift from an American collegue (I know y'all watched "Flags of our Fathers", you know the 1911 I'm talking about.

There's a certain feeling you get when you wield your very own, mighty 1911, you sort of feel like Thor and your 1911 is your Mjølner (non-Thor fans might need to Google that).

I chose the Springfield Loaded 1911-A1 for it's classic looks and it's affordable price, I think I paid around $850 for mine. And it's looks truly are classic, rosewood grips and solid stainless steel.

It was an extremely satisfying drive home from the gun shop that day. Oh, I bought it at Bullseye in downtown Tacoma, one of my favorite shops.

Photographic Evidence - Proof That Shooting Guns is the Most Fun Ever!

Thanks again to TheChive.com for finding this good stuff.

Here is a photo of a girl shooting a gun for the very first time. Looks like an AK, a nice choice for a first timer. I Present to you clear photographic evidence that shooting guns is the most fun ever, ever...

That's a look of euphoria if I've ever seen one!

More proof of gun fun. Notice the shark has the same exact expression on his face as the girl? Coincidence? I think not.

Photos - Girls and Guns

One of my favorite web sites to waste time on while sitting in my hooch is TheChive.com. Today they posted a photo gallery that caught my attention, being the nice guy that I am, I thought I'd share it with my fellow gun (girl) lovers...

View the rest of the gallery here.

Oh and by the way... you're welcome.

Thanks to Chris from ReedsSports.com for the Extended Layaway - Just Purchased this SICK Sig Sauer 1911 STX!

A big thank you to Chris from ReedsSports.com whose listings I found on GunBroker.com (they DBA as Northern Firearms for their listings on Gun Broker) for also accepting my request for an extended layaway due to my deployment. I had been drooling over this gorgeous Sig Sauer 1911 STX 45acp and sent out an email kindly explaining that I was overseas and if I could purchase this item over an extended layaway, as I had recently done with success for several other firearm purchases as well. The good times just keep on rolling because I got an email reply today accepting my request! Am I having a great week of gun buying or what?

I sincerely appreciate each of the dealers that have offered me an extended layaway. It allows me to continue my enjoyment of gun collecting while deployed overseas with the army and gives me a lot to look forward to when I get back to good ole Washington state. There'll be some heads turning at the gun range when I pull out this 1911! Thanks Chris!

To top it all off, I got it for a great price too, just $899.

Check out ReedsSports.com - here are their listings on Gun Broker read more about the Sig Sauer 191 STX .45 here.

Stocking up on ammo 7.62x39 for my two AKs and 8mm Mauser- thank you AmmoMan.com for the great prices!

I don't get paid to endorse the companies I mention on this web site. I only endorse those that as a gun enthusiast and more importantly, as a consumer, that I can recommend to others. AmmoMan.com is an online retail seller of bulk ammunition and their deals on ammo are by far the best I've ever come across.

I just bought 1260 rounds of 7.62x39 for my two AK47's, which I plan to have a ton of fun with when I get back. The price for 1260 rounds of 7.62x39 at AmmoMan.com? Just $279.00. That works out to .22 cents per round. Let's compare that to a standard 20 round box of American Eagle 7.62x39 for sale over at CheaperThanDirt.com which sells that box of 20 for $15.48. That works out to .77 cents per round! Sure, you can get a box of 20 rounds made by Tula for $4.67 at CheaperThanDirt.com but that's a steel cased round and that's STILL costs more per round than the deal at Ammo Man.

Here's the best part about buying bulk ammo at AmmoMan.com. FREE SHIPPING! That's just nuts.

I also picked up 900 rounds of 8mm Mauser surplus ammo for only $245.00 a few weeks ago! Now that my Mauser collection count is up to 4 rifles, I'm now stocked to spend plenty of time with them at the range.

I didn't want to miss out on these great prices, lucky for me I have that dear friend back home that is hanging onto all my deliveries for me until I get back from deployment.

Here's that Mauser from Jerry's Pawn Shop in Florida. It's all mine.

As I mentioned in my previous post, Jerry's Pawn Shop in Florida (I have added a permanent link to their Gun Broker listings over on the right hand side there) was kind enough to accommodate my request for an extended layaway so that I could purchase a Yugoslavian 24/47 Mauser that they had listed on GunBroker.com.

I already own a Yugo 24/47 but this one is in excellent condition. The stock looks like it has either been refinished or it's new. One way or the other, it's a great looking stock! The metal appears to be in like new condition as well. My Yugo Mauser is nowhere near this good a shape.

The Yugo 24/47 is a post-WWII production rifle. The 47 designates the year that production began on this model. I found some great information on the 24/47 here http://www.marstar.ca/Y-E-24+.htm actually that web site has lots of good information on all types of Mausers. I also found good information on the 24/47 on Wikipedia.

I paid a little more for it than I wanted, but given the condition it's in and that I can pay it off on a layaway, I went ahead and pulled the trigger.

I recently bought 900 rounds of 8mm Mauser ammunition from AmmoMan.com so I'll have plenty enough ammo to put through all my Mausers (my Mauser collection is now up to 4 rifles: the two Yugo's, a 1946 Spanish and a 1938 Czech VZ24. AmmoMan.com has, by far, the best prices on bulk ammo that I have ever found online. And they include FREE SHIPPING on all their orders. You can't beat that.

It looks like it's going to make an excellent shooter!

Leave some comments and let me know what you think of her...

Nothing to do with guns - Because My Army Buddy Trevor is Cool (and he loves Michigan).

One of my army brothers is a HUGE Michigan fan. Yesterday, I sent him this photo and he absolutely went nuts over it, saying it totally made his Valentine's Day. Mind you, we are out here in the middle of the desert so you might understand how little "gifts" like these are truly appreciated.

Always having been one to take things to another level and seeing just how much he appreciated that photo, I thought I'd scour the internet for a couple hours and really show my army brother even more Michigan goodness. Trevor, this is for you...
