I'm Still Alive - This Gallery Proves It

Hello again everyone. I am still alive and well and STILL serving near the DMZ in the Republic of Korea. I've got about 6 or 7 months left in my military service and I can't wait to get back home to Washington and getting back to MyGunDiary.com!

I still have some plans in the works for the web site wen I get back. A complete overhaul of the design and many more videos, photos and other cool content.

I have been keeping extremely busy at work and while I would love to share a lot more photos with you, I have to be careful not to violate any OPSEC or make any statements detrimental to the mission. That being said, I really wanted to post an op-ed piece about the recent shootings at the recruiting centers but because I am still active duty and I am a unit public affairs rep., it's best for me not to post any opinion pieces until I am out of the service. You know?

Gun Control Advocates are Dumb

So a Facebook "friend" posted a link to this ridiculous anti-gun violence celebrity video and article today and I couldn't resist jumping in. http://www.upworthy.com/one-minute-of-fed-up-celebrities-talking-about-guns-is-actually-worth-your-time?g=2

Of course, I knew that eventually I'd get her to prove that she is clueless about gun laws etc if I just continued baiting her. But isn't it so interesting how so-called gun control advocates seem to always avoid answering legitimate questions such as when I asked simply what her suggestion would be for balancing gun rights vs gun control?

In the end she says that she thinks "we need stricter gun laws to get these weapons out of the hands of kids". Of course I pointed out the fact that it's already against the law for kids to possess guns.

And as I was writing this blog post she went ahead and contradicted herself to prove my point even further.

Opinion: Charleston, South Carolina Hate Shooting

I personally cannot fathom what goes on inside the mind of someone who is deranged enough to shoot, slaughter innocent people. Many are calling this a hate crime, which it is. Some are calling it a terrorist act, this would also be accurate. And yes, of course, Obama has taken the opportunity to throw the subject of gun control in this mix. If you've been visiting this blog and enjoying the almost infinite amount of Girls with Guns Photo Galleries, you'll know that I typically refrain from posting my opinion on gun-related events and tragedies due to my status as an active duty service member, but this time I felt compelled to share my voice and opinion with any willing to listen.

Since the dawn of man, evil has coexisted with good. There will always be evil doers and there must always be do-gooders to counter that evil. And as tragic as this incident is, we must think about our place in the world as free people. Gun control advocates point to Australia as an example of how we might go about eliminating the Second Amendment. But we as Americans hold freedom a little more dearly I must say because here is the reality that I see.

True, chances are, I, you, might never need to use a gun in self-defense BUT is it freedom to live in a world where only governments and police bear firearms? No it is not.

The price of freedom is tolerance.

The root of this tragedy is ignorance. Pure and simple. We, as a nation must promote harmony, peace, love, tolerance, mutual respect, knowledge and hold out a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on for those in need. For those in our country who feel hated in their hearts, let us find them and show them another way. Let each of us take it upon ourselves to do SOMETHING to better our communities and spread more love and positive energy into the world, instead of hatred and ignorance.

But even with the greatest possible effort by all of us willing, there will still be evil.

Unless ALL governments of the world are willing to lay down their arms, I will cherish the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America, which I have sworn to defend and I will continue to enjoy the FREEDOM to keep and bear arms. I will continue to enjoy collecting, target shooting and legally carry my firearms. If ONLY someone at that church had been armed. If only... then maybe a good person, could have done what some many good people throughout history have done when confronted with evil... they could have fought.

My thoughts and condolences go out to everyone affected by this tragedy.

I Hate To Keep Doing This, But Here are More Girls with Guns

I am really, really looking forward to getting back to the States next January so I can kick start this blog again. It pains me to neglect it but I'm not doing any shooting over here in Korea other than when I got qualify with my M4 once a year.

The only thing I can really do is continue to throw up the occasional Girls with Guns photo gallery. I'm sure you don't mind do you?

I suppose I could post links to some gun related stories and what not?

I'll dedicate more time here in the next couple weeks or so, start firing the engine back up and get the blog nice and warmed up for my return!
